Blackberry explains why it didn't use Android for the Z10 [Video]

Blackberry has worked with a number developers over the past year to ensure it has over 70,000 apps in the Blackberry World app store specifically for its new BB10 operating system (OS). We spoke to the firm’s vice president of developer relations, Alec Saunders to ask why the firm went to such lengths to create its own mobile OS when it could have gone down the much easier route and used Google’s open platform OS Android. Saunders also puts to rest the common belief that developers will have a hard time porting their apps from the 4.2in rectangle Z10 display to that of the square 3.1in screen of the Q10.
